Meet Jennifer

Minneapolis-based jewelry artist Jennifer Merchant is known
for her bold acrylic pieces that pop with vibrant art prints. After earning a BFA in Metals and Jewelry from SCAD, she pivoted from silver and gold to acrylic due to limited resources. Inspired by art books and fashion magazines, she developed a unique layered acrylic technique, combining the pages into wearable art. Transforming simple materials into striking, wearable art, her bold designs are guided by the philosophy: “If you can’t see it from ten feet away, why bother?”

Our Jewelry-Making Process

Every piece of jewelry at Jennifer Merchant Design is a true labor of
love, blending art, craftsmanship, and creativity. Our process begins
with solid acrylic sheets and carefully selected pages torn from art
books—each one chosen for its vibrant colors, textures, and stories.

We bond the pages between layers of acrylic, creating a striking,
one-of-a-kind slab where art meets transparency. This layered material
is then meticulously cut, shaped, and sculpted by hand to transform it
into beautifully crafted jewelry pieces.

No two pieces are ever the same, ensuring that every earring,
necklace, and bracelet we create is as unique as the person wearing it.
By giving new life to these art pages, we celebrate the fusion of old
and new, tradition and innovation, all while crafting jewelry that’s as
expressive as it is beautiful.
